About SHERRI D. JONES
Sherri D. Jones is a grief educator and MSW candidate at the University of Southern California whose work centers on Black grief, faith, and healing. Raised in Newark, New Jersey, and shaped by community and loss, she brings lived experience and academic insight to conversations often avoided or oversimplified.
With a background in marketing and a calling toward social work, Sherri writes at the intersection of personal story and cultural critique. The Mourning After Sunday is part memoir and part witness, offering language and validation to Black communities grieving in spaces not built to hold them.
Sherri writes and speaks to community members, clinicians, and faith leaders committed to deeper care, honest reflection, and more humane approaches to grief.
